Oh holy Duggar!

The Duggars are letting God dictate how many children they have and, with nine boys, five girls, and one on the way, Jim Bob and Michelle feel blessed many times over! Find out how the Duggars coordinate a household that would challenge any manager. It was unreal. This woman was so calm, collected and happy, I must insist that she is taking anti-depressants or some other related drug. The mother homeschools all the children, and is therefore with them all day long. This family is a well oiled machine. There is a large spreadsheet on the kitchen wall of all the jurisdictions (chores) each child must fulfill each day. The children are like robots: happy, well behaved and looking after one another. There is no TV, internet or walkmans allowed in their house, and this leaves all free time to be spent hanging out with the family. They have their own website, in case you're interested in seeing more of them. They eliminated all debt years ago, and do not buy what they can't afford.
The Duggars make me feel like a bad person. I complain and want and wish too much. I have too much anxiety about what it would be like for us to have one baby, never mind fifteen!
While I don't feel any connection to overly religious people, I wonder if there's something to be said for such a faithful and loving family. That being said, it was just a TV show, and things could be very different when the camera isn't on.
A must see, if you have the chance to watch it in the future. It seems to be airing again June 15, 16 and 18.

I saw this on channel 4 NBC news Early Show saying it was going to air on Discovery Channel but they never said what time just tonight (Sunday June 19, 2005) I never got to watch it! My DH watched Discovery Channel just about all day long watching OCC Orange County Choppers & flipped back & forth watching a Nascar race I think on FOX 5.
I did a GOOGLE search & found a few links one of them said the show was on air but not on my Discovery Channel 27 they had firemen in Boston on.
I found a few more links so I guess I can read about there story & maybe they'll have another airing after the 16th baby is born.
I have a friend who has 6 kids, I thought that was enough...but I guess they'll have a few more too!
I, for one, think that it is great that this family was covered in this documentary. I am 17, and I am going to be a senior this fall. I have been home schooled since the fourth grade. Our lifestyle is very different from the average family's. It isn't always easy, but it is definitely worth it. I have every intention of home schooling my kids, and I give the Duggars credit; they seem to be doing an outstanding job!!!!
I wish they would let someone else dictate their fashion. Haircuts and new clothes for everyone! Maybe Mamma Duggar can appear in another Discovery (or TLC!) program and get a well deserved- and needed- makeover! :-)
Who are you to decide that their fashion needs a makeover. I like their fashion and style and they obviously believe in modesty. They also believe in the principle as set forth in the Bible that a woman's hair is her glory. I think they are awesome example of what a family should be.
I don't think that being "happy, well behaved and looking after one another" necessarily makes them robots. Perhaps they were just raised well and thoroughly enjoy their lives.
I hate the duggers they make me mad
I find the Duggar family intriquing, however I do agree that the family needs a little updating in style. It is okay to be conservative and modest, maybe Discovery Channel can give the family a MODEST makeover bringing them more up to date, nothing outlandish, just some new clothes and hairstyles for the whole gang. I think that would be nice. But other than that I think the family is impressive, It is obvious that they have incredible values and that is admirable.
I love the Duggar family and they inspire me and my husband to know that even in this time of life it is the parents who teach the kids not the world. The children are well mannered and the family are loving. Why judge them for what they wear, look like, or for what ever else they do. Are we so tanted from this day in age that when we see something right or good, we have to put it down or question it? My husband and I are planning a very big family and all we hear from people is why and you don't need to now days it is not safe. If you ask me everything is safe in the hands of GOD.
